Speaker core

Mayht has revolutionised speaker technology with their new drivers. The driver is the core of the speaker, which produces audio waves through vibrations. By using this new technology, the sound quality and volume of current speakers can be achieved with a product ten times smaller! Their Heartmotion speaker is a major breakthrough in the 75-year-old design of speaker cores.

BPO assisted Mayht (presently part of Sonos) in the initial development phase of the speaker. Various ideas were simulated and technically elaborated upon before the product was further developed with many adjustments made. One crucial component that was developed during the initial phase and remains a key part of the design is the spider. The spider is a spring part, that has been optimised for many cycles and is responsible for delivering the correct stiffness and resistance. The quality of the driver greatly depends on this design, where strength, stiffness, and resonance are all carefully optimised.
